FRIENDS OF THEATR COLWYN
A warm welcome to new Friends who have joined recently and a reminder to those who have yet to renew their membership, that subscriptions are now due. The reductions received on hot drinks and certain films/productions at the theatre more than off set the cost of membership.
Our next coffee morning is TUESDAY 5TH NOVEMBER in the Community Room at the Theatre from approximately 10.15 a.m. when we look forward to seeing as many Friends as possible - an ideal opportunity to socialize.
TUESDAY 3RD DECEMBER is the date for our Christmas coffee morning. John Williams will offer carol singing, there will be a tombola to make a change from the big raffle in past years, and we are hoping to raise funds with a stall having items for sale. It would be greatly appreciated if members could bring contributions for this stall - craft, gifts, cakes, jams, preserves - anything you think might sell. Just as important is attendance with a full purse, as there is bound to be bargains!
The Friends' AGM was held on Wednesday 23rd October when the following positions were confirmed. Eric Lickman as Chair, Dennis Gannon as Vice Chair, Doreen Reeves as Treasurer, Pat Greenhill as Secretary and Lynne Chadburn as Minutes Secretary; we are particularly grateful to Doreen and Lynne for taking on their roles and thereby saving The Friends from having to be dissolved. Your committee members are Phil Batty Snr., Terry Bond, Monica Ganley, Joan Mercer and John Williams.
Thanks were extended to everyone who assists at coffee mornings, fund raising events etc. and particular thanks to those people who so regularly contribute raffle prizes - the latter is a good source of funds.
Despite a low attendance, £109.07 was raised from the refreshments and raffle.
The next event will be a matinee performance of Aladdin at our Theatre on FRIDAY 3RD JANAUARY 2020 at 2.00 p.m. Prior to the performance we invite you to Caffi Colwyn (a few doors down from the Theatre) for a PRE PERFORMANCE LIGHT LUNCH. The cost for the panto is £12.00 and £8.00 for the light lunch. We look forward to seeing as many Friends as possible - to both or just one of the elements on offer. A booking form is attached to this newsletter, the return of which should be by Friday 20th December 2019. We cannot expect the theatre to hold tickets after that date. Bookings as early as possible would be very much appreciated all round.
Please note that the choice of food is comparatively limited and is only intended to be a light meal followed by tea/coffee. The menu follows, together with the booking form
